Getting an early start on good oral health
Baby – also known as primary – teeth play a critical role in the development of adult teeth. Although they fall out naturally as they make way for permanent adult teeth, their care and regular check-ups every six months is just as essential.
Dental check-ups for children allow the John Street Dental team to closely monitor tooth and facial bone development. During your child’s check-up each tooth and the gums will be examined and any plaque build-up will be removed. Your child may also receive a fluoride treatment for added enamel protection.
Regular check-ups will ensure any problems such as teeth not coming through straight or not coming through at all, bone structure development or tiny cavities can be detected and treated early. It will also give our dentists an opportunity to assess any potential orthodontic needs. Orthodontic intervention at an early age can reduce or may even eliminate the need for braces in later years.
To schedule a check-up appointment for your child, call the friendly John Street Dental team. You may even like to book in at the same time as your own check-up.
