The basics
Over time, everyday habits like drinking coffee, tea and red wine, along with natural changes in the teeth, can make your smile appear darker or more stained.
Professional whitening uses carefully selected whitening products to help reduce staining and brighten the teeth. Because your treatment is supervised by our dental team, we can assess your teeth beforehand, protect your gums and tailor the approach to suit your needs.
The goal is a brighter, natural-looking smile, with options available for both in-chair and take-home whitening.
Why patients choose professional whitening
In-chair whitening can brighten your smile in a single visit, with results that are often visible straight away.
Your treatment is supervised by our dental team, with the whitening approach adjusted to suit your teeth, gums and sensitivity.
We aim for a brighter, fresher smile that still looks natural and suits you.
With good oral hygiene and occasional top-ups when needed, you can help maintain your whitening results for longer.
What to expect
We’ll assess your teeth and gums to make sure whitening is suitable for you and discuss any concerns before treatment begins.
We’ll help you decide between in-chair whitening, a custom take-home kit, or a combination of both, depending on your goals and preferences.
For in-chair whitening, your gums are carefully protected before the whitening gel is applied. Take-home whitening gives you the flexibility to whiten gradually at home using custom-made trays.
We’ll give you simple advice on how to look after your brighter smile and let you know when a top-up may be helpful.
See it up close
Professional teeth whitening can lift stains and brighten your natural smile, leaving your teeth looking noticeably whiter while keeping the result fresh and natural-looking.
Good to know
When used appropriately and supervised by a dental professional, teeth whitening is generally considered safe for suitable patients.
Before treatment, we’ll assess your teeth and gums, choose an appropriate whitening option for you and take steps to protect your gums and manage sensitivity throughout the process.
Some patients may experience temporary tooth sensitivity during or after whitening.
If sensitivity occurs, we can recommend simple ways to help manage it and make you more comfortable.
Whitening results vary from person to person and will depend on factors such as diet, oral hygiene and lifestyle habits.
Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking can contribute to staining over time. Occasional top-up whitening may help maintain your results when needed.
In chair whitening is completed at the practice and is designed to provide a noticeable result in one visit. Take-home whitening works more gradually using custom-made trays, allowing you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.
Our team can explain both options and help you choose the one that best suits your preferences and lifestyle.
Whitening is a great option for many patients, but it isn’t suitable for everyone.
We’ll assess your teeth, discuss your goals and explain what whitening can and can’t change. Crowns, veneers and fillings won’t change colour with whitening, so we’ll explain this clearly beforehand and help you understand what results you can realistically expect.
